Luxury cars have always had a tendency to cause us to drool over them but then dismiss owning them as a dream that will never come true. The price of luxury cars has created a reputation that tends to tie these vehicles with the ostentatious upper class. Fortunately, car brands have kept the majority in mind and have provided a lineup of more affordable luxury vehicles built for beginners.
First on our list is the Acura ILX. First introduced for the 2013 lineup, the ILX combines the smooth handling of a standard sedan with the class of a luxury vehicle. The interior of the 2016 ILX is roomy, especially in the backseats, and comes standard with many of the bells and whistles, including a rearview camera, push-button start, and navigation control.
The ILX reaches an efficient 25 miles per gallon in town and up to 36 on the highway. This entry-level luxury vehicle starts at $27,900 in the 2016 model year, a price that’s reasonably affordable compared to its competitors.
While Audi may produce some of the expensive luxury cars you’ve drooled over, they’ve also kept the beginners in mind. The Audi A3 may have less cargo and passenger space than some other entry-level luxury vehicles, but it makes up for that with its extensive technological array. The 2016 A3 comes equipped with a rearview camera, heated mirrors, cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and a great audio system.
On the road, the A3 drives at a reasonable 23 miles per gallon in the city and 33 on the highway. The 2016 model starts at $30,900.
As part of its attempt to reach out to younger buyers, Buick has put considerable effort into making the Verano one of the most affordable beginner luxury cars out there. The name Buick carries a reputation of luxury, and this model lives up to its name with the Verano’s luxurious and comfortable interior, which is kept extra quiet with QuietTuning technology. The Verano is also kept up-to-date with an onboard 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, heated seats, a rearview camera, and mobile syncing capabilities.
The 2016 Verano reaches 21 miles per gallon in the city and up to 32 on the highway, and it starts at $21,065.
Mercedes Benz CLA 250 Coupe
Near the top of the entry-level luxury vehicles stands the Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 Coupe. Similar to the Audi, the CLA lacks in the backseat leg-room department but measures up in other areas. The 2016 features top-of-the-line technology includes ambient interior lighting, dual-zone climate control, smartphone integration, and even rain-sensing windshield wipers.
The CLA 250 reaches an impressive 26 miles per gallon in the city and 38 miles per gallon on the highway. This efficiency and luxury comes at the starting price of $32,050.
With these accessible cars, you no longer have to stand outside of the glass and dream of the day when you can own a beginner luxury vehicle of your own.
