What can you accomplish in 33 seconds? Well, believe it or not, as the inforgraphic from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states, every 33 seconds in the United States a vehicle is in fact stolen. It also goes on to say that 72% of cars reported stolen are passenger cars. One would think that it would be more along the lines of a fancy sports car, that is not the case however.
The graphic mentions a few interesting facts about car theft in the U.S., one being the top 10 cities and states for auto theft. No need to worry as Virginia is not one of them.
A few tips to better protect your vehicle from theft are mentioned in the graphic below. Always remember to lock your doors and never leave valuable items in your car in clear sight as that can give thieves even more incentive to steal your vehicle.
