Elegant Good Looks

Critics might call it a glorified Toyota Rav4, but the 2017 Lexus NX200t’s styling does its best to silence the naysayers. The NX200t looks the business both inside and out. It’s sophisticated but just a little aggressive, with angular lines that give it just the right amount of edge. Jalopnik writer William Clavey raved about the seats, which cushion and cradle the body for maximum comfort on short city journeys and road trips.

Serviceable Power

The NX200t has the celebrated 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood. Lexus designed this motor exclusively for the NX on its 2015 debut. It performed so well that Lexus didn’t just roll it out into other motor cars in its fleet; it continues to use this motor in the NX today.

This engine lets the 2017 Lexus NX200t deliver 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It’s a little restrained off the mark considering the turbocharged motor, reaching 60 miles per hour from standing in 7.1 seconds, but it can certainly keep pace with other vehicles on the road. Front-wheel-drive is standard, but if you prefer, you can get the NX200t with all-wheel-drive.

Impressive Fuel Efficiency

A digital display offers real-time feedback about the NX200t’s fuel economy as you travel. Expect it to get around 22 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 28 mpg on the open road for a combined fuel economy rating of 25 mpg, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency. That’s impressive, considering the NX200t’s horsepower and turbocharged engine.

Smart Safety Technology

You can feel confident you and your passengers will stay safe thanks to the addition of some impressive active and passive safety innovations. Lexus doesn’t charge extra for some of the features other manufacturers do, such as its Blind Spot Monitoring, Brake Assist, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and Backup Camera with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. There are also eight airbags to help out in the case of a crash.

These standard features helped the 2017 Lexus NX200t earn an outstanding five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Space for the Entire Family

While it’s small enough to easily park and maneuver through traffic, the NX200t’s cabin is surprisingly spacious. There’s enough leg room for passengers in the front and back, and while three people in the rear might get squashed, two should travel comfortably.

The NX200t’s trunk is admittedly one of the smallest in its class at 18 cubic feet. That should be enough room for your groceries, but it’s a tight squeeze for family vacations. The rear seats can fold down if you need more cargo room, though. This brings the trunk space to 55 cubic feet, which is only marginally less room than you’d get in the acclaimed BMW X1.

With chic good looks and the features motorists love, it’s easy to see why people across America are falling in love with the 2017 Lexus NX200t.
